Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Sparrow was born in McComb
(Mississippi) on December 2, 1981 and was raised in Kentwood (Louisiana).
Britney was an avid dancer in her youth and also won numerous competitions in
gymnastics. Britney was an excellent performer and dancer. Britney was only 8
years old when she attempted to join The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989)
however her age was a factor to her being disqualified. Britney was then
suggested to the off-Broadway production "Ruthless" in which she
performed in the title role for two years. When she was 11 years old, she was
back on stage for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989). This time, she was one
of the mouseketeers along with other stars of today, Justin Timberlake and JC
Chasez (*NSYNC) and Ryan Gosling. However, her biggest break came in the late
1990s when she signed a contract as a Jive Recording Artist. Britney's debut
album, "...Baby, was released in 1999. Britney also sold 9 million copies
(as in July 1, 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I Do It Again"
which was released May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears &
Jamie Spears and she has a large brother, Bryan Spears & a little
sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney is a child of Madonna, Mariah Carey, and
Whitney Houston, was always determined to become a star. Britney auditioned to
The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) on TV at age 8. But she was not a
suitable age for the part. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved
to New York where she starred in several TV ads and in an off-Broadway
production, "Ruthless", where she was a student of Natalie Portman.
Her love of music and dance took over and, two years later, she auditioned
again for part in "Mickey Mouse" again and, this time, won the part
along with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
